Lama Sonam became a monk at young age and under the guidance of Ven. the 1st

Gyalpo

Rinpoche, he completed a first three year retreat at Karma Samten Ling

Monastery,

Manang. Later on, he completed a second three year retreat under the

guidance of Ven.

Dapsang Rinpoche at the Karma Samten Ling Monastery,

Kathmandu. After these

extensive retreats, he took the responsibility of Varja Master

at the same Monastery.
