The Sacred Light
in Lumbini
H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche is highly supportive of establishing the
Karma Samten Ling Monastery, Lumbini.  During a teaching
with disciples in July 2004, H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche explained the
details of the sacred location of the Meditation Centre and its
representation in Karma Kagyu lineage, and that a grand and
solemn Monastery is to be built.

H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche also stated that Ven. Gyalpo Rinpoche,
due to his achievements in Buddhism, is indeed the most
suitable person in carrying out the project.  His Eminence has
given reassurance that Ven. Gyalpo Rinpoche, Lama Gyaltsen
and Khenpo Kunga, who are responsible, will allocate all the
funds raised solely for the purpose of establishing the Karma
Samten Ling Monastery, Lumbini.  All donations and
sponsorships, even a single piece of brick, will be bestowed
    with Buddha’s blessings.

H.H. the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dorje highly
regards this project and has given a sacred name to Karma
Samten Ling Meditation Centre as "
Supreme Noble Self-
Arising Lamp Monastery
".  The meaning is equivalent to and
symbolizes the everlasting sacred fire that glows at the holy
place which is adjacent to where the Meditation Centre is being
built.  The sacred name
Supreme Noble Self-Arising Lamp
Monastery
signifies that the Buddha’s radiance will glow
forever, illuminating the universe of Dharma and benefiting all
sentient beings.

His Holiness believes that building this Monastery would confer
tremendous benefit for Karma Kagyu lineage and for all beings.
