Endowed with tremendous compassion, Ven. Gyalpo Rinpoche aspires to free all sentient beings from suffering. Under his guidance, Karma Samten Ling has undertaken many charitable activities such as life release, donations of clothes, rice, medicine to the destitute, elderly and disabled.
Karma Samten Ling also takes part in sponsoring the education of children in poverty. In autumn 2006, with the liaison of Lama Gyaltsen and Khenpo Kunga, the virtue of funding a village school by the Anke Winderam Fund in Hong Kong was successfully accomplished. Until now, over 20 students are benefited and alleviated from the future of illiteracy.
The village school is situated Lumbini, it strives to provide education for over a hundred destitute children. Its students who come from various villages, have different cultures and religious backgrounds.
Actualizing the doctrine of equanimity and the mind of indifference, with compassion, people of different backgrounds in faraway places can be linked together. Just like sponsoring the students in the village school in Lumbini, accepting the diversity of their backgrounds without discrimination.
In Buddhadharma, not only do we practice generosity altruistically, we also practice the paramita open-mindedly regardless of religion, culture, nationality, ethnicity or castes. By means of helping others, you are helping yourself too. In the course of conducting virtuous activities, one can eliminate attachment by eliminating the unnecessary worldly prejudice and discrimination, this way, the sufferings in the Samsara can be relieved by the breeze of compassion because your infinite kindness is beyond all limit.
