ocean of sufferings

Inspired by the compassion of  Ven. Gyalpo Rinpoche, disciples of Rinpoche’s Centre in Hong Kong instigated
the virtue of dedicating meritorious charities on two occasions, in February and April 2006, for Rinpoche’s
longevity, success in retreat and propagation of Buddhadharma.

Bestowed with tremendous compassion and the aspiration of elevating all sentient beings from the ocean of
sufferings, Ven. Gaylpo Rinpoche  directed these devotees to offer charity programmes of offering food, donating
clothes and blankets to the destitute.  By means of these virtuous activities, the spirit of the Paramita of
    generosity was thus flourished.

In general, a charity of giving can be conducted in  various ways - offering the three jewels (Buddha, Dharma and
Sangha), life release, donation of medicine ......, and one may also endeavour the Paramita of giving by offering
your skills to help others as well as to accomplish other individuals’ virtuous actiivities. Altruistic generosity can
widen our mind and vision, reduce attachment, increase good karma so as to overcome obstacles, and
    eventually free from sufferings.

With the help of Lama Gyaltsen, Khenpo Kunga and the support of disciples, the virtueous activity was
successfully accomplished.  During the event, participants were offered breakfast and lunch followed by Dharma
programmes organised by the Monastery.  Food, blankets, clothes and shoes were given to orphans, beggars
and the disabled, all of whom were engrossed in the blissfulness of Buddha Dharma. and were very thankful that
the donations and a decent meal came to them in time of need.

Through helping others, not only do we fulfill the wish of our lineage masters, our lives would also be very
meaningful.  Therefore Rinpoche wish that disciples would participate frequently in virtuous activities.  Through
the practice of loving kindness and compassion,  our Bodhicitta can be enhanced, so as to accomplish
Rinpoche’s aspiriation of enlightening and elevating beings from the ocean of sufferings.
